World of Warcraft is full of secrets, and one of the game’s latest puzzles took a group of clever players two complete weeks to complete, earning them some quite awesome mounts for their troubles.
The newest WoW patch for the Legion expansion that introduced a brand new raid on March 28 also incorporated a convoluted easter egg hunt that had players scouring the World of Azeroth seeking for tiny pieces of paper. Every single a single gave an incredibly vague clue for the next one’s place. Eventually, the players produced their strategy to the finish line and have been awarded with quite cool flying mounts referred to as the Riddler’s Mind-Worm.
The hunt began in Dalaran, exactly where the first page sits innocuously on a bookshelf inside the Legerdemain Lounge. Right-clicking the page provides you its web page quantity and a clue for exactly where the next page is.
In line with the Imgur user Nightswifty, you must read the pages in order or else they won’t appear on the planet.
The extremely vague clues, for example “… of sea, spirit and self…” and “… the wind, the eye…” don’t provide significantly details. The web page numbers on each and every web page refer towards the real-life book, World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1, which gives extra context to the clues written on the in-game pages.
That did not make it also simple even though, thinking of the players could only pinpoint rough guesses of areas and had to commit lots of time covering every inch of suspected zones in an effort to obtain the tiny pages.
Nightswifty noted that this journey was a group work, giving credit towards the World of Warcraft secret-finding Discord channel.
Following the puzzle was solved, World of Warcraft designer Jeremy Feasel tweeted out a image of the infamous Batman villain, The Riddler, using the ominous message: “Until next time.”
The Riddler connection refers towards the name of the mount, Riddler’s Mind-Worm, which the prosperous hunters will no-doubt fly about on with pride to get a very long time.
