“What they’re at the moment operating on right now – and I’ve this on very good authority is usually a sort of remake/revival of Knights with the Old Republic. I never know when this is set to come out, but it has been in development to get SWTOR Credits a little though now. I do not truly understand how that game will find yourself. I’ve heard that it isn’t specifically a remake any longer, nevertheless it started as a remake/revival. Now it’s kind of going from that blueprint in sort of its personal original thing. I guess we’ll see what that turns out to become, but they are prototyping it right now.”
Robertson says that this may not necessarily be working with the KOTOR name, but could just be employing its structure to make a new Star Wars RPG.
The original writer of Knights of the Old Republic, Drew Karpyshyn, returned to BioWare to reportedly operate on SWTOR – but final month, he confirmed he was functioning on a brand new game. Beyond that, he didn’t confirm what project he was assigned to.
Bioware’s been running Star Wars: The Old Republic due to the fact December 20, 2011. When the game was somewhat of a success for some time, several have been disappointed that it was not a true successor to Knights of the Old Republic 2. SWTOR had six expansions over the game’s five year lifespan. One problem that Bioware could face, in continuing the game’s legacy, is the fact that the plot on the game is no longer canon following Disney’s killing off on the Expanded Universe. A reboot could alleviate these troubles.
Bioware’s had mixed reception using the most current in their very own original space IP series, Mass Impact: Andromeda. Regardless, they are wanting to continue updates to Andromeda to offer fans what they wanted.
