EA Truly Wants You To Celebrate Star Wars Day Together with the Old Republic, But We’ll Pass, Thanks

EA’s official Twitter account sent out a tweet this afternoon saying “Celebrate #MayThe4th with @SWOTR!” and integrated a video of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Not going to lie, although I am excited for Star Wars Day every year, the final way I’d celebrate it is actually by playing The Old Republic.

And as significantly as I really like BioWare games (even when they are terrible), I just…guys, come on. Just give us some Battlefront II news so we’ve something to truly be excited about with regards to EA Star Wars games.

Sure, The Old Republic has an astounding 85% on Metacritic along with a quantity of 4 and five-star critiques and defenses. But let’s cease kidding ourselves. The final time we got SWTOR credits a superb Star Wars game, it was Star Wars: Knights with the Old Republic.

The very first Battlefront reboot was plagued with microtransactions and bugs, did not have a single-player campaign, and had terrible multiplayer matchmaking. The Old Republic was an unremarkable and unimaginative MMO set in the Star Wars universe, fundamentally ignoring all the strengths in the Star Wars IP. I feel our resident professional on all points Star Wars, Jeremy Konrad, said it finest on the subject of SWTOR:

“I hated it with each fiber of my becoming. Whilst the cutscenes might be (and need to be) films on their own, the experience of essentially playing the game frustrated me towards the point where I have not played yet another Computer game due to the fact.”
Yeah, The Old Republic killed Star Wars games for years. But now, Battlefront II has offered us hope again, just when we’d lost all idea of what a great Star Wars game even looks like.

I get it, EA. The Old Republic continues to be going, and also you need to buy cheap SWTOR credits create dollars. But please, do not insult us like this. Just repost the Battlefront II teaser again. It’d be kinder.
